How Records Are Verified

Every score on the Human Benchmark leaderboard is logged with browser timestamp, session metadata, and test parameters. Anomalous scores (statistically impossible given known human limits) are automatically flagged and reviewed. Repeat submissions from the same session are deduplicated — only the single best result per user per test counts toward the leaderboard.

The Reaction Time test uses performance.now() for sub-millisecond precision. The human physiological floor for simple visual RT is approximately 100ms — scores below this threshold are removed as impossible. Similarly, Typing Speed scores above 300 WPM (the proven human maximum with standard keyboards) are not accepted.

All scores are anonymous unless you create a free account. Logged-in users get persistent leaderboard attribution, score history, and percentile tracking over time. Learn more about scoring methodology on the Science page.

Leaderboard FAQ

Do I need an account to appear on the leaderboard?
Yes — anonymous scores are saved locally to your browser but are not attributed to a public profile. Sign up for free to have your scores appear here permanently.
How often is the leaderboard updated?
Scores are added in real time as users complete tests. The rankings shown here reflect all verified scores submitted since the site launched. Refresh the page to see the latest data.
Why is my amazing score not on here?
Only verified, non-anomalous scores count. Scores set without a logged-in account are not shown publicly. Additionally, some tests require scores above a certain threshold to be listed (e.g. Reaction Time must be under 250ms to enter the top 10).
Can I improve my score with practice?
Yes — significantly, for most tests. Reaction Time improves 10–15% with consistent warm-up practice. Typing Speed can improve 30–50 WPM with deliberate training. See the Science page for evidence-based improvement strategies.
Are the records really human?
Yes. All scores go through automated anomaly detection. Scores that fall outside physiologically possible ranges (e.g. reaction times below 100ms, typing above 300 WPM) are automatically rejected. The leaderboard reflects genuine human performance.
How do I challenge a specific leaderboard record?
Take the test, beat the score, and make sure you're logged into your account. Your score will automatically replace the previous record if it's higher. There's no manual submission process.
