Battle Room Rules
Up to 5 players
Each room accepts a maximum of 5 score submissions. Once 5 players submit, the room closes.
48-hour window
Rooms expire after 48 hours. All participants should complete the test within that window.
One score per name
Each player name can only appear once on the leaderboard. Choose your name carefully.
No account needed
Neither the host nor the participants need to create an account. The room link is the only access credential.
Honest scoring
Scores are self-reported. Battle rooms are designed for trusted friend groups, not ranked competition.
Tips for a Better Battle
| Tip | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Set a deadline | Prevents the room from staying half-filled for days |
| Pick a fast test first | Reaction Time and Aim Trainer generate results in under 90 seconds |
| Use a quiet environment | Distractions add 10 to 40ms on reaction tests |
| Avoid mobile for speed tests | Desktop keyboards and mice give more consistent results |
| Screenshot your score first | The live room auto-sorts so early scores shift position |
| Share via link, not screenshot | The room URL lets everyone submit and see the live board |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an account to join a battle room?
No. Anyone with the room link can join and submit a score. No sign-in is required on either side. The host creates the room anonymously and shares the URL.
How many players can join one battle room?
Up to 5 players per room. The room closes automatically once 5 scores have been submitted. If you need more than 5 players, create a second room on the same test and compare the top scores manually.
How long does a battle room stay open?
Battle rooms stay active for 48 hours. After that the link expires and the room is removed from the server. Plan to have all participants complete the test within that window.
Which test works best for a group battle?
Reaction Time and Aim Trainer are the most popular because they take under 90 seconds and produce clear numeric scores. Typing Speed is another fast option. For longer sessions, Sequence Memory and Number Memory generate natural conversation about performance.
Can I battle on all 29 Human Benchmark tests?
Battle rooms currently support 18 tests. Tests with highly variable session lengths (like Verbal Memory) or subjective scoring formats are excluded to keep comparisons fair. The full list is in the table above.
Is the leaderboard updated in real time?
Yes. The room page polls the server every 3 seconds and re-renders the leaderboard as new scores arrive. You do not need to refresh the page.
Can I see past battle room results?
Battle rooms expire after 48 hours, so long-term history is not stored. To keep a record, copy the leaderboard or take a screenshot before the room expires.
