Fitts' Law (1954) precisely models the time-accuracy tradeoff in targeting tasks. Aim performance correlates with hand-eye coordination, visuomotor integration speed, and fine motor cortex efficiency. It is used in human-computer interaction research to optimize UI element sizing.
What does the Aim Trainer test measure?
The Aim Trainer measures targeting speed and motor precision - specifically the Fitts' Law relationship between target size, distance, and movement time. You click 30 targets and your average click time (from appearance to click) is your score. It reflects hand-eye coordination, motor planning speed, and cursor control efficiency.
How to improve your Aim Trainer score
- โ Use a mouse sensitivity where you can reach any point on screen without lifting your wrist.
- โ A larger mousepad reduces micro-corrections and smooths movement paths.
- โ Aim for the center of each target - don't rush to the edge.
- โ Regular aim training (15 min/day) shows measurable improvement within 2 weeks.
