What is a good Visual Memory score?

Visual working memory is mediated by the posterior parietal cortex and prefrontal cortex. Capacity is typically 3โ4 "chunks" - significantly lower than verbal working memory in raw item count, but higher in information density per chunk.
What does the Visual Memory test measure?
Visual Memory tests how many highlighted tiles in a grid you can memorize and reproduce. The grid grows after each success, increasing both the number of tiles and the complexity of the spatial pattern. It directly tests visual working memory capacity - your ability to hold an image in mind without verbal rehearsal.
How to improve your Visual Memory score
- โ Divide the grid into quadrants and remember which quadrants are lit - reduces load from individual tiles to regions.
- โ Trace the shape the highlighted tiles form (an "L", an "arc") rather than remembering positions.
- โ Scan systematically top-to-bottom before the tiles disappear.
- โ Don't click hastily - take a breath and reconstruct the pattern mentally first.
