The CPT was developed in 1956 by Rosvold et al. as a neurological assessment tool. False alarm rate is the primary indicator of impulsivity and is significantly elevated in ADHD. Hit rate reflects vigilance and alertness.
What does the Attention & Focus test measure?
The Attention & Focus test is modeled on the Continuous Performance Test (CPT), a standard clinical tool for measuring sustained attention and inhibitory control. You must respond to target stimuli and withhold responses to distractors over an extended period. Hit rate and false alarm rate together determine your score.
How to improve your Attention & Focus score
- โ Take the test in a quiet room with no background stimuli.
- โ Keep your eyes on the center of the screen and maintain a consistent rhythm.
- โ Don't click too fast - impulsive responses cause false alarms that hurt your score.
- โ If your mind wanders, gently refocus rather than tensing up.
